Tips for Boosting Self Confidence That Actually Work

Jimmy Naraine is back with another epic video about personal development. This time he talks about how to start building or rebuilding your self esteem so you can reach new heights in life. I’ve also included a trick of my own for ridding your thoughts of self doubt (or loathing, resentment, etc.)

Hey, the majority of the people I cross paths with in life suffer from the problem Jimmy’s detailing in the video: Over-estimating others, while under-estimating themselves. Someone sitting in the interview office is for sure better than you. The potential client you’re thinking about calling surely already has the same, or a better solution than the service you can offer them. The girl/boy sitting across the room couldn’t possibly be interested in someone like you.

Write down everything in your life that fills you with pride:

  • Your job
  • Your height
  • Your build
  • Your home
  • Your toys
  • Your family
  • Your pets
  • Competitions you’ve won
  • Be a narcissist!

Hey, if Tim Ferriss can doubt himself, so can you. Just don’t let it overwhelm you.

A trick I use is called the “blink/block”: As soon as self doubt or negativity comes into my head, I “blink” as hard as I can and mentally “block” the thoughts out. Flip the switch and it’s gone. This trick works great with practice and discipline.
