When You Questioned the Authenticity of a Prank Ad, This is What You Will Get

Do you remember the Pepsi MAX and racing champ Jeff Gordon team-up in pulling the car salesman prank, which has gone viral on the web? I personally believe that it’s authentic, but some are being skeptical about the authenticity of the prankvert. An automotive journalist who questioned the authenticity of the “Test Drive” prank ad is “lucky” enough to receive a response to his article. The lucky guy is Travis Okulski of Jalopnik.com.

So, a lesson learned: If you publicly ridicule the authenticity of a prank ad, get ready to justify your skepticism by becoming a prank victim 🙂

One thing for sure: Pepsi MAX has done it again. With more than 15 million views, “Test Drive 2” impacts greatly in Pepsi MAX’s (and Jeff Gordon’s) brand awareness. Mission accomplished.
