Want to Do a Proper Prankvertising Campaign? Learn from These Horror Movies

Want to learn how to promote your business? Learn from the movie industry; learn how the film companies use prankvertising to promote the films.

In this post, I highlight the prankvert campaigns of three horror/supranatural movies – horror pranks are disturbingly effective.

Carrie (2013)

In this video, the video production team of MGM and Screen Gems created a prank video that showcase telekinesis for the launch of horror film ‘Carrie’.

The video went viral in an instant. They did this with hopes that it can get people in the theaters. Looking at their prankvert campaign, it’s deemed to be successful 🙂

Curse of Chucky (2013)

Here is another video that aims to promote the movie. I guess they did a good job as it really freaked people out.

The entrance of Chucky was always epic and you can really see the scared look on people’s faces.

Devil’s Due (2014)

The third video that I found interesting in the movie area is the Devil Baby. This video is created to promote the movie Devil’s Due.

This shows that there is really a more creative way to promote a product or service in such a way that it can be shared on social media.

Those are scary stuff. But you know what, they have succeeded in pranking everybody. Unfortunately, of all three, Devil’s Due is the least success, rated 3.9/10 on IMDb.
