Near Field Communication Set to Replace Human Fingerprints and Modern Passcode Technology

George Orwell would be very disappointed by this new technology and the possibilities it would offer to “Big Brother” if everyone used it.

I’m not quite on-board with this just yet, but it does offer some promise and a few tech-related shortcuts for anyone who lives in the free world.

There’s a lot of chatter about Near Field Communication all over the net. Some say this guy has managed to find a ground-floor tech niche that will soon be used in all smartphones, along with the other uses described in the video. This article from late last year likens NFC to Intel and their foothold in the computer market?

And you thought RFID was only good for making sure the pound gets your puppy home to you safely if they’re lost…

Don’t worry, if you don’t want to get an implant done (Orwell would approve), they make a ring for that.

What do you think? Is this tech the next Intel? Would you feel comfortable replacing your passcodes, swipe cards (house, work, debit, credit), etc., with NFC and its related apps?
