Ice Bucket Challenge has Gone Viral and Raised Millions of Dollars for ALS Association

If you want to witness a cause gone viral, look no further than the ice bucket challenge.

Ice bucket challenge started out as a fundraising campaign by ALS association for raising awareness on Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as Lou Gehrig’s Disease, a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord which may cause patients to become totally paralyzed (source.)

Beyond everyone’s expectation, the ice bucket challenge has gone viral over the Internet, which attracted celebrities and the rest of us to take part in the challenge (by literally soaking themselves with a bucketful of icy cold water) and donate to the cause.

So far, the ALS Association has raised millions and worldwide attention, as well as support to the cause and the ALS disease itself.
