Robert Kiyosaki on Identifying True Talent to Work in Your Sales & Marketing Business

Though the tips in this video are directed toward network marketing (which has some negative connotations associated with it), I believe Kiyosaki’s points about choosing the perfect “personality” to market your business are relevant to any area of sales or marketing:

Rich Dad’s Personality Types:

  1. Always Right: no flexibility; not willing to listen or learn.
  2. Comfortable: not willing to move outside their comfort zone; no desire for change.
  3. Must be Liked: constant need for approval; always want to be liked by everyone; not willing to step on people’s toes.
  4. Must Wins: perseveres in spite of any challenge; willing to sacrifice to get the win at any cost.

Pretty simple right? You gotta be a winner to “win” in the sales and marketing business!

Question:

A) Do you feel like you’re not a “must win” type, yet have enjoyed boundless success in a face-to-face, direct sales or marketing role?

B) Do you manage a sales/marketing team and completely disagree with Rich Dad’s assessment on personality types and their limitations? I mean on average of course — there’s always going to bpeople who defy conventions)
